🔹 Cultural Inspiration

The Taiaha is a traditional Māori close-quarters weapon, crafted from wood or whalebone, featuring a body (tinana), head (upoko), and tongue (arero). It symbolizes both protection and welcome — used in the ceremonial wero challenge during pōwhiri (formal greetings). This watch honors that duality of war and peace.

🔹 Design Details

• Engraving:
  • Case front and back are hand-engraved — a first for the Leoncino Art Collection.
  • The case back features the taiaha’s head with a dog-hair collar and glowing eyes, flanked by two manaia guardians.
  • The four lugs display a tiki warrior’s head with rolling eyes and protruding tongue.
• Edition: Only 10 pieces produced, each with a hand-engraved serial number.
• Art Motif: A tiki warrior stands ready for battle, with a manaia at his feet offering protection.
